What Are The Autumn Scents of 2026? - Home Fragrance Edition
Written By: Izzie Lister
There’s something about the beginning of autumn that makes us want to feel cosier at home. The windows might not be open quite as wide as they were a few weeks ago, but there’s still that lovely feeling of a new season arriving. The garden is starting to change, evenings are drawing in and, somehow, lighting a candle makes the whole house feel a little more settled.
It’s also around this time of year that those lighter summer fragrances start to lose their appeal. We begin reaching for warmer scents again – something with a little more depth, perhaps, that works alongside woollen blankets, rainy afternoons and a kitchen full of something baking.
With so many wax melts, candles and reed diffusers to choose from, it can be difficult to know which autumn fragrances are really worth bringing home.
My Favourite Autumn Scents
Autumn fragrances don’t necessarily need to be heavy or overly sweet. Some of the best scents have a little freshness to them, with warmer notes underneath that make a room feel inviting without becoming too much.
Our Pumpkin Chai is just the sort of fragrance I find myself reaching for when the seasons start to turn. Warm pumpkin and spiced chai notes give it that familiar autumn feeling – the sort of scent that suits a slow morning with a coffee, or an evening spent at home when the weather has taken a turn outside.
It works particularly well in living rooms, kitchens and hallways, where the fragrance can gently drift through the house. There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about it without feeling overly seasonal, so it’s one that can happily stay out well beyond October.

Then there’s Coffee Kisses, which is a little richer. Almond, caramel and coffee scents come together to create a warm, comforting fragrance that feels right at home this time of year.
If Pumpkin Chai feels like an autumn walk followed by a hot drink, Coffee Kisses is more of a slow morning in the kitchen – coffee brewing, something sweet in the oven and nowhere you particularly need to be.

For me, these are the sorts of fragrances that make a house feel ready for autumn. They don’t have to fill every corner of a room; a little fragrance in the right place is often enough to change the atmosphere completely.
Pure Essential Oils for a Natural Autumn Fragrance
If you prefer a more natural approach to home fragrance, our pure essential oil collection is a lovely place to start. Each blend has been made using carefully selected essential oils, with different combinations to suit different moods and spaces around the home.
Refresh is a crisp, fresh blend of bergamot, bright citrus, calming lavender and cooling eucalyptus. Although fresh enough to remind you of warmer days, it works beautifully at this time of year too – particularly in kitchens, home offices or anywhere that could do with feeling a little brighter on a grey afternoon.
When the evenings begin drawing in, Dream is a softer choice. Warm cedarwood sits alongside soothing lavender and fresh lemon verbena, with delicate ylang ylang underneath. It’s the kind of fragrance that works particularly well in a bedroom or quiet corner of the house – somewhere to slow down at the end of the day.
And for those days when the house feels a little flat, Uplifting brings a welcome bit of freshness. Aromatic basil and cooling spearmint are balanced with juicy mandarin, earthy patchouli and a gentle base of ylang ylang. It’s fresh rather than sharp, making it a useful one to have around as the days become darker and we spend more time indoors.
Autumn is perhaps one of the best times of year to play around with fragrance at home. There’s no need to wait for a special occasion – light a candle while you make dinner, put some wax melts on after tidying up, or add a few drops of essential oil when you’re settling down for the evening.
Sometimes it’s the smallest changes that make home feel ready for a new season.
Wax Melts, Candles or Diffusers... Which Should You Choose?
Finding your signature fragrance is only half the fun; choosing how to enjoy it is just as important. The beauty of home fragrance is that there's no right or wrong answer, many people enjoy using a combination of products throughout their home.
Wax melts are perfect if you like to switch fragrances with the Seasons ( *wink* ) or simply fancy a change every now and then. They quickly fill a room with scent and make it easy to swap between fresh florals, bright citrus blends or cosy evening aromas whenever the mood strikes.
If you're using pure essential oils, an oil burner is the perfect companion. Similar in design to a traditional wax melt burner, oil burners are specially designed to gently warm essential oils, allowing their natural fragrance to disperse throughout the room. They're a wonderful option for anyone looking to enjoy the therapeutic benefits and botanical aromas of essential oils.
For those who enjoy both fragrance and atmosphere, candles are hard to beat. The gentle flicker of candlelight creates a warm, relaxing ambience, making them the perfect choice for cosy evenings, quiet reading corners or unwinding after a long summer's day.
If you'd rather enjoy fragrance without having to light anything, reed diffusers provide a continuous, low-maintenance scent. Ideal for hallways, bathrooms, bedrooms and entranceways, they offer a subtle fragrance that quietly welcomes you every time you walk into the room.
For a quick burst of freshness, room mists are another great addition. A few sprays can instantly refresh a living space, bedroom or even linens, making them perfect when guests are on their way or whenever your home needs a little lift.
Rather than choosing just one, many people like to mix and match. A reed diffuser in the hallway, a candle in the living room, wax melts in the kitchen, a room mist upstairs and an oil burner gently diffusing essential oils in the evening all work together to create a beautifully scented home from room to room.
